Don’t miss this grand season opener to kick off the 2014 – 2015 Music @ Main concert series: Tuesday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m. Main Library, Hicks Auditorium.
The event features Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra players Max Huls, on violin, and Alexei Romanenko, on cello, along with the accomplished and distinguished Christine Clark, on piano. The selections, composed by the library’s own Edward Lein, will include Sonatina for Violin & Piano, and world premieres of his Sonatina for Cello & Piano (Bygones) and Piano Trio.
Lein holds master’s degrees in music theory and library science from Florida State University, and has served 28 years as the music librarian for the Jacksonville Public Library. Lein recently retired from his full-time library position but continues to produce the popular Music @ Main concert series.
Earlier in his career Lein appeared as tenor soloist in recitals, oratorios and dramatic works throughout Florida. The Jacksonville Public Library is honored to showcase the works of such a talented artist and dedicated employee. Join us in this celebration to hear the original works of Edward Lein and stay for a reception following the concert.
