Lee Bros. visit, book signing & contest
Monday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m., Main Library, Hicks Auditorium
Grab your apron! This is your chance to see foremost Southern food experts, the Lee brothers, in person and at no cost.
Famous food critics Matt and Ted Lee, known simply as the Lee Bros., will host the 2nd annual My Favorite Cookbook event at the library. The brothers have written three cookbooks, serve as contributing editors at Travel + Leisure, and perform as on-air commentators for the Cooking Channel’s Unique Eats.
My Favorite Cookbook is a fun, entertaining evening where you can learn first-hand about the Lee brothers’ foray into the celebrity cooking world. As a partnership between the Jacksonville Public Library and the Florida State College Foundation, My Favorite Cookbook serves as an annual fundraiser—now in its second year—to support the culinary program at Florida State College at Jacksonville. There is a free general program, open to the public with reservations required; and a ticketed event that takes place before the program.
Buy a Lee Bros. cookbook & get it signed!
The BookMark will have the Lee Bros. cookbooks available for purchase at the event. Be sure to pick up Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen, released in 2013 and considered their “most personal” book to date. It has stories and recipes for their city’s most iconic dishes such as she-crab soup and hoppin’ John, as well as lowcountry dishes with names like groundnut cakes, syllabub and peach leather. The brothers will be happy to sign your cookbook!
