Would you like to learn conversational French, delve into French culture, and interact with an advanced French speaker in a welcoming class setting? Now you can at the library—for free. Join us for a fun, educational three-part series of immersive French classes using the latest Transparent Language Online software to engage you in a variety of exercises that build listening, reading, grammar, and speaking skills.
We’ll help you set up your password and familiarize you with the different features of the Transparent Language Online program. There’s even a Transparent Language app so you can practice your skills, do homework and self-study on your mobile devices at home or on the go. The innovative database includes interactive programs including a realistic “dialog” feature that allows you to record your voice and play back the conversation.
Explore popular topics such as shopping, travel, food, currency and more. We’ll explore social media possibilities in class to see how Facebook and Twitter allow you to see language used in real time and in real context to get the feel of real communications about real life.
If you’ve ever wanted to attempt French, now’s the time! The class will be led by Kat Minor, an e-library specialist and advanced French speaker, which is a big benefit for students learning a language. Once you acquire some basics and know how to navigate the Transparent Language Online program, you can continue at your own pace at home—or plan a trip to Paris to practice your French. The classes are first come, first served. For more information call 992-7101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
