Before Email: Letters from Black America

Celebrate Black History. Celebrate American History. Through the illuminating letters of ordinary and exceptional African-Americans, cast members give life to correspondence from Toni Morrison, Paul and Alice Dunbar, Martin Luther King Jr., Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes and others. This multimedia Readers Theater production is based on “Letters from Black America” by Pamela Newkirk.

The production will be directed by Tangela Floyd and Emanuel Washington. Before Email is brought to you by the U.S. Postal Service, Young Minds Building Success Charities, Nokturnal Escapes, and through the generous support of the Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library. This program is free and open to the public.
