Visit more often beginning Nov. 14.
The Jacksonville Public Library is pleased to announce the major addition of hours, with more than half of our library locations now offering six- or seven-day service. In total, libraries will be open for more than 88 extra hours each week, effective Saturday, Nov. 14. This means even greater service for customers who rely on their neighborhood library as a resource for everything from early literacy to job training to computer access.
The increase, made possible by a $1 million budget increase approved by City Council, marks a welcome change from cuts the library experienced in the past. We are thankful to City Council for recognizing the value of the library to customers, and will continue to advocate for further City funding in order to restore hours, programs and collections at all 21 locations. View the new schedule of hours, effective Nov. 14, and visit your library more often!
