Tuesday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m. – Discussion on First Coast Connect, 89.9 WJCT-FM
As we make plans for the holiday season, which is just around the corner, many of us will be thinking about flying.
Louis C.K. does a great bit about complaining while flying … something about being IN A CHAIR 30,000 feet in the air, racing forward at 600 miles per hour and … you are complaining that your Wi-Fi is too slow!
How about having a smooth landing “literarily” and appreciate the miracle of flight with David McCullough’s The Wright Brothers?
Let me know your first flight experience. What are your memories? Were you scared? Excited? Where was your destination? Did you dress up? Did you throw up?
What was your reading experience on board with David Mccullough’s latest biography? And, would you read another?
Let me know at email@example.com.
And a big thank you to all of you for sending me your reader recommendations. I am always receiving wonderful reader recommendations and information about the literary world. We have an incredibly intelligent and well-read listenership. Keep the suggestions, observations and titles coming my way.
Here’s how the book club works:
The Jacksonville Public Library and WJCT teamed up to create First Coast Connect Book Club for library and literature lovers. WJCT’s First Coast Connect book blogger Stacey Goldring discusses engaging books and invites you to join in the conversation, discuss your opinions, and add ideas to the literary discussion.
Each month a specific book or a selection of books will be chosen to be discussed. Check out the book(s) at any Jacksonville Public Library, or purchase the books at The Book Nook or Chamblin’s. Mention you’re with the First Coast Connect Book Club and get a discount.
After you’ve read the book, or books from the suggested book list, or pondered the topic of the week, tell us what you think at firstname.lastname@example.org. Share any questions, emotions, memories or ideas that you have about the book. Stacey and host Melissa Ross will discuss the books and share your comments on First Coast Connect or tune in at 9 a.m. on Oct. 20 to 89.9 FM WJCT’s First Coast Connect and call 549-2937.
First Coast Connect airs every weekday at 9 a.m. on 89.9 WJCT-FM.
